NEW UNIFORMS UNVEILED

Troy, OH - The Troy Trojans varsity hockey team, proud members of the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA), have unveiled their highly anticipated new uniforms for the upcoming season, the team's first major uniform change in nearly a decade.

Partnering with Rival Hockey from Michigan, the Trojans are proud to be the very first team in the country to wear Rival's latest breakthrough in uniform technology called the RivalElite Embroidered series. Featuring premium fabric comparable to material worn in the National Hockey League, fully cut and sewn striping and logos and sporting many of the elite trimmings associated with uniforms found in the highest levels of the game, the Trojans will skate into their 24th season of varsity hockey with the most durable, breathable and high tech uniform system in the school's history.

The uniform redesign was spearheaded by Troy's JT Szabo and Rival's Steven Kleiner, who helped focus the design on integration with the rest of the Troy Trojans athletic department and ushering in the return of the classic "star" logo for the first time since 2010. Additionally, the Trojans will debut the district's brand new "helmet" logo as a secondary mark embroidered on each shoulder, the first varsity program to do so. A final logo is featured on the modern style collar, showcasing the OHSAA logo as a proud member of Ohio's interscholastic association.

In addition to the design elements of the uniform redesign, special attention was placed on player comfort and safety, with breathability and moisture control elements built into both the sweaters as well as the performance socks worn by the players outside of their leg pads.

While the ongoing COVID pandemic have changed how teams across the country conduct business, the Trojans have risen to the challenge and utilize the district's inspiration of doing things #TheTrojanWay, with the hashtag being printed boldly inside the collar for players to see as a guide along the program's pursuit of excellence on the ice and in the classroom.

Rival was also instrumental in the replacement of aging gloves, another anticipated major safety investment in the program. Player gloves were produced by Rival, and feature the Trojans scarlet and gray color scheme to match the uniforms as well as the placement of the star logo embroidered on the thumb.

Troy will debut the new uniforms this weekend when they open the season with a home and home series of preseason exhibition games, at conference foe Alter on Saturday night and inside the historic Hobart Arena at home on Sunday when they host interconference rival Worthington Kilbourne at 6pm.
