Trojans Remain Undefeated With Weekend Wins

Troy, OH - The Troy Trojans varsity hockey team, proud members of the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA), continued with one of the program's best season starts as they battled though a grueling three games in three nights, earning a trio of wins to stay unbeaten.

Friday night saw the Trojans once again hit the road north to Toledo, where they were hosted by Sylvania Southview. Despite a gritty and physical battle on the ice, and a rash of penalties during the contest, the Trojans skated away with a big 7-3 victory.

Back at home on Saturday night, the Trojans played host to St. Xavier as part of the team's annual first responder night event honoring area law enforcement, fire, medic and dispatchers for their efforts in protecting the community.

While Saturday night would treat the Troy fans to a more balanced matchup, the high energy tempo of the game finally tilted towards the home team as the Trojans extended their unbeaten streak with a thrilling 5-2 final score.

Sunday night featured the conclusion of the weekend series with a rematch of the first preseason game of the year against a tough Bishop Watterson Eagles team from the Capital Hockey Conference, themselves ending a three game weekend after winning in Columbus on Saturday night. Despite the amount of hockey played in less than 72 hours, both teams picked up right where they left off on November 5, battling end to end before the Trojans put the game out of reach in the third period, final score 5-2. Junior netminder Noah Carver (1) picked up the win in net for all three games.

The Trojans return to action on the road next weekend.
