Trojans Advance To SemiFinals With 3-1 Win

Centerville, OH - The Troy Trojans varsity hockey team, a proud member of the OHSAA, picked up their first postseason victory on Friday night in the opening round of the 2021 SWOHSHL Playoffs inside South Metro Arena in suburban Dayton.

Facing off against the Cincinnati Sycamore Aves, the Trojans skated to a scoreless tie through two periods, before captain Kellen Glover opened the scoring early in the final stanza, while the Aves matched with a lamplighter minutes later. Troy's Cam Lombardo would score the eventual game-winner while Gaven Burris added an empty netter in the closing moments of regulation to secure the 3-1 final. Freshman netminder Noah Carver earned his first career varsity postseason win between the pipes.

With the win over Sycamore, the Trojans advance to the Semi Finals on Saturday at Noon, with league leader Beavercreek Beavers awaiting. The Championship game in the single-elimination conference tournament is on Sunday if necessary.
